When you decide to sell your home at this time of year, the question inevitably comes up: "Should I sell now or wait until Spring?" So, what is the answer? Well, it's not simple.There are a lot of different factors involved. 1st and foremost, you have to look at your family's needs, your circumstances regarding work, where you want to move, and if it's going to be available in the spring.
Once you go through these factors, there are a number of factors regarding the real estate market that may impact your decision. Interest rates are in the low 4%'s right now, which are historically low. While it's true we don't know what the market is going to look like in the spring, we know that it looks good right now, especially for fist time buyers.
Another thing to think about is appreciation. Yes, it's true that your home will probably appreciate in value if you wait until Spring to sell. However, the home you will purchase will also probably increase in price as well.
You will also want to look at competing homes on the market and if there are homes similar to yours up for sale right now. If there aren't, you have the advantage of being a unique home and if there are a lack of similar homes, you will be able to get more money.
